The Centre
Wish you'd had the opportunity to dance when you were younger? Feel like you could never do ballet at this stage of your life, but have always wanted to try it? Have previous experience and would love to bring it back as a hobby?
I offer classes in ballet to suit all levels, from no experience at all to years of experience and training. I frequently incorporate floorbarre exercises, which are fundamental to your development and I will ensure you feel at ease in the class whilst we build on your technique and strength.
Come and enjoy the feeling of grace, fun and getaway!
Dánar is the Founder and Principal of The Adult Ballet Centre.
I trained professionally as a dancer at the age of 18 at London Studio Centre, graduating in 2006 with a BA (Hons) in Dance and Musical Theatre. Despite enjoying singing, acting and other styles of dance, my main passion has always been within ballet - I love the technical side whilst at the same time, enjoying the beautiful music and expression of movement.
I gained my PGCE + 60 Masters Credits in 2009 and began spreading my passion for dance through teaching in secondary schools. A few years down the line, my focus moved to 16 – 18 year olds and then Degree level students.
In 2016, I jumped at the chance to teach ballet to adults in Australia. This was the moment I found my niche and an opportunity I will forever be eternally grateful for!
“How great is it to still have the opportunity to pick up an old hobby or try something new the older you get? Ballet is one of those arts which you almost have to appear young and completely agile to do. This is true at a professional level, but what about those who just want to dance for enjoyment? No pressure to get the steps perfect, no worries if you make a mistake – just somewhere adults of all ages, male or female, can come along, socialise, build their technique, zone out and enjoy. This is my aim, this is my passion and I’m so excited to share it!”
